What counts as a solar incentive?

  • State or local rebates and grant programs.
  • Utility-specific solar or battery programs.
  • Property-tax or sales-tax treatment where applicable.
  • Distributed-generation compensation such as net metering or net billing.
  • Renewable-energy certificate programs and other performance-based incentives.
