Home Solar Atlas provides educational information and planning estimates for U.S. homeowners. Results are not engineering designs, binding utility determinations, tax advice, legal advice, lending offers, installer quotes or guarantees of savings.
Verify before purchasing
Solar production, roof geometry, utility rates, incentives, taxes, permitting requirements, equipment specifications and financing terms can change or vary by property. Before signing a contract, verify material assumptions with the relevant utility, government agency, equipment manufacturer, licensed contractor, lender and qualified tax or legal professional where appropriate.
First-party quote matching requests
The Request Local Solar Quote Matching form allows homeowners to submit project basics and contact information directly to Home Solar Atlas. Submitting the initial request does not guarantee that matching is available in a particular ZIP code, does not guarantee a particular number of installer quotes, and does not create a contract to purchase solar services.
The initial matching request does not authorize Home Solar Atlas to sell, transfer or send your email address or phone number to solar installers. If a workflow is introduced that shares contact details with a specific installer, additional clear consent must be obtained before that sharing occurs.
If you choose to provide a phone number and select phone contact, you authorize Home Solar Atlas itself to contact you about the matching request using the preference shown on the form. A phone number is not required when email-only contact is selected.
Installer partner applications
Solar companies may submit business, service-area, licensing, accreditation, review and capacity information for consideration through the For Installers application. The person submitting an application represents that they are authorized to provide the information on behalf of the company and that the information is materially accurate to the best of their knowledge.
Submitting an application does not guarantee approval, a public profile, verified status, paid placement, ranking, homeowner lead volume, exclusivity or any commercial relationship with Home Solar Atlas. We may request supporting information, verify public records, reject an application, or change an application status as our partner requirements develop.
An approved application by itself does not authorize Home Solar Atlas to send homeowner contact details to that installer. Homeowner data sharing, if enabled later, requires the separate homeowner-consent process described in the relevant matching experience.
Homeowner quote contributions
If you submit an anonymized solar quote, you confirm that the information is based on a genuine proposal or transaction you are authorized to describe and that you have not intentionally fabricated pricing or equipment details. Submissions may be reviewed, corrected for obvious formatting issues, rejected, aggregated or removed from the public dataset.
Submitting a quote does not create a customer relationship, guarantee publication or establish that the installer named in an optional field is recommended or criticized by Home Solar Atlas.
Third-party data
Home Solar Atlas may display or process data from government, laboratory and commercial services including NLR PVWatts, OpenEI, EIA and Google Maps Platform. Those providers control their own datasets, coverage, availability and terms.
Use of Google Maps Platform content through this site is subject to applicable Google Maps Platform Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
Installer discovery
Live installer search results are provided for discovery and are not endorsements, rankings, matching-partner lists or certifications by Home Solar Atlas. A business appearing in search has not necessarily been independently verified by us. Users are responsible for checking licensing, insurance, references, warranties, contract terms and applicable consumer protections.
Financial estimates
Payback and long-term savings estimates depend on assumptions including production, electricity prices, degradation, self-consumption, export compensation, taxes, incentives, financing and equipment lifetime. Actual results can differ materially.
Acceptable use
You may use the site for personal research and normal business evaluation. You may not attempt to disrupt the service, bypass access controls, submit knowingly false market, lead or installer-application data, scrape restricted third-party content in violation of provider terms, misrepresent Home Solar Atlas data as a guaranteed quote, or use the service unlawfully.
Availability and changes
Features may be updated, corrected, limited or discontinued as data sources, partner coverage and market conditions change. We may revise these terms as the service develops.
